Mindy McCready: I Did Not Steal My Child
First Published: November 30, 2011 1:25 PM EST Credit: Access Hollywood Caption Mindy McCreadyLOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Mindy McCready tells Access Hollywood that despite reports, she and her 5-year-old son are not missing. I am working with lawyers to try to get all this straightened out, she told Access Hollywood in an e-mail on Wednesday. I did not steal my child, as it would be impossible for me to kidnap what already belongs to me! There never was any missing persons report and never an Amber Alert. According to the Associated Press, however, the Department of Children and Families said a missing persons report was filed in Florida on Tuesday. The DCF told the AP that the report was filed after the singer took her son, Zander, from the singers fathers home. McCreadys mother reportedly has custody of the child. A judge has ordered McCready to return Zander by Thursday, the AP reported. Country star McCready has battled addiction and a series of personal issues over the years. In April 2010, she told Access about her stint on VH1s Celebrity Rehab, explaining her diagnosis from Dr. Drew Pinksy. Dr. Drew in giving me a diagnosis, diagnosed me as a person who has co-dependency. The new age term is a love addict, she told Access at the time. It leads you into the wrong relationships and you go from one horrible relationship to another. Then I started drinking too much. In December 2008, the singer was hospitalized after cutting her wrists and taking several pills. Copyright 2011 by NBC Universal, Inc. All rights reserved. Scarlett Johansson Talks Social Media: I Cant Think Of Anything Id Rather Do Less
First Published: November 27, 2011 5:15 PM EST Credit: Getty Images LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Caption Scarlett Johansson on the red carpet at the 2011 Oscars Sorry, Facebook Scarlett Johansson does not like you. In a interview with The Huffington Post co-founder Arianna Huffington for Interview magazine, the notoriously private actress revealed that while she considers social networking an amazing tool as a means to raise awareness and share information, the notion of wanting to keep followers up to speed on her every whim is something she finds hard to understand. I dont have a Facebook or a Twitter account, and I dont know how I feel about this idea of, Now, Im eating dinner, and I want everyone to know that Im having dinner at this time, or I just mailed a letter and dropped off my kids, Scarlett, who will next be seen on the big screen alongside Matt Damon in We Bought A Zoo, said. That, to me, is a very strange phenomenon. I cant think of anything Id rather do less than have to continuously share details of my everyday life. The 27-year-old beauty, whose private nude photos hit the web in September after a hacker accessed her e-mail account, said she is always surprised that so many of her fellow actors have Twitter accounts. I guess they use it in a way that works for them, she said. But Id rather that people had less access to my personal life. If I could keep it that way, Id be a happy lady. UPDATE: TiVo Warns That Costs Will Rise Next Year, But Hopes For Long-Term Payoff
UPDATE, 3:10 PM: TiVotold analysts in a conference call thatlitigation expenses will grow as the company gears up for battles to defend its DVR patents. The U.S. International Trade Commission holds a hearing in December. In January TiVo’s case against AT&T goes to trial in Texas;there are other court actions involving Verizon and Microsoft. The judge in the Texas case — who also oversaw TiVo’s successful suits against Dish Network — is due to retire in March. “Obviously there’ll be some delay,” TiVo General Counsel Matthew Zinn says.Research and development costs also will rise as TiVo tweaks its software to work with DVRs used by its growing number of partners including DirecTV, Comcast, RCN, Virgin Media, and Spanish broadband companyONO. “We’re investing substantially additional dollars this year to build a common code base” that would work on multiple platforms, CEO Tom Rogers says. He adds that TiVo is developing a product that integrates Comcast’sXfinity broadband service. Consumers will buy it as a retail product.”We think that’s an attractive model” for cable operators that want to offer advanced services without spending a lot on equipment, Rogers says. He wouldn’t disclose how much TiVo collects from the customers who go through cable and satellite services, but noted that they “contribute in a significant way (to earnings) once we get past the R&D costs.” TiVo says it still has an ample supply of hard drives despite the floods in Thailand this month that crippled companies that manufacture parts for the digital storage devices. But CFO Anna Brunelle warned that the situation is “evolving.”At the end of conference call with analystsTiVo shares were up 6% in after market trading from today’s $9.57 closing price. PREVIOUS, 1:34 PM: Shares of the DVR pioneer are up 4.6% in post market trading after the company reported that it exceeded its own guidance, and analyst expectations, for the quarter that ended in October. TiVo posted a net loss of $24.5M, vs its $20.6M loss in the period a year ago, on revenues of $64.8M,up 27.4%. The revenue figure blew away the Street’s $50.6M forecast. And the net loss of 21 cents a share was slightly better than the expected 23 cent loss. Just as significant: TiVo said that its total subscriptions improved 6.1% since July, ending at 2.05M. That’s the first quarter-over-quarter increase TiVo has seen since early 2007. The improvement is largely due to Virgin Media’s roll out of TiVo-equipped DVRs to its UK customers. The more lucrative customer base of people buying TiVo service directly from the company declined 2.6% to 1.14M. CEO Tom Rogers says that “DirecTV intends to launch its TiVo offering in select markets in December with a nationwide rollout to follow early next year. All of this is a testament to our leadership in advanced television and our ability to drive meaningful solutions to market.”
About That Lost Sexual Hysteria Project For Julia Roberts
In David Cronenberg’s new film A Dangerous Method, Keira Knightley plays Sabina Spielrein, a young woman who at times lapses into fits of hysterics and at other times, comfortably discusses masturbation and the arousing aspects of her father’s beatings. Originally though, this complicated character (and the onscreen spankings she endures) were not intended for the Pirates of the Caribbean star — but for Julia Roberts, America’s Longest-Reigning Sweetheart. In an interview, Cronenberg confesses that an earlier iteration of Christopher Hampton’s script centered on Sabina — who, in real life, went on to become one of the world’s first female psychoanalysts after being treated by (and some say, engaging in a sexual relationship with) Carl Jung. “[Christopher] had written a screenplay for Julia Roberts called Sabina and it was for Fox,” the filmmaker explains. “I think that was 17 years ago and it didn’t happen for whatever reason, and he then asked [the studio] if he could have the permission to make a play out of it, so it was really a screenplay first and it was based on many things.” Hampton took his concept to the stage for 2002’s The Talking Cure, which starred Ralph Fiennes, Jodhi May and Dominic Rowan before eventually adapting the idea into this week’s feature, which centers on Jung’s relationship with Sigmund Freud as much as his relationship with Spielrein. While Cronenberg does not explain why Sabine never got off the ground, readers might assume that Roberts was uncomfortable with some of the sexually charged scenes that initially caused Knightley to almost leave the project. “There were these two scenes, and I didn’t know that I could do those two scenes,” Knightley told Reuters this fall. “In the age of Internet and all the rest of it, I didn’t know that that is what I want particularly to be out there. […] I phoned [Cronenberg] up initially to turn it down because I thought they were incredibly important for the piece. So it wasn’t a question of trying to negotiate them out of the film because I thought they were very necessary for the film. But I just thought, ‘I don’t think I can do that.’” The filmmaker was ultimately able to assuage Knightley’s nerves by promising her that the scenes would be more “clinical” than “sexual.” While moviegoers may never get to see Julia Roberts play a hysterical Russian mistress who begs for beatings in the bedroom, they will get to see her play an unintentionally hysterical evil queen who appears to practically beg for critical beatings in the upcoming Snow White adaptation Mirror, Mirror this March. · David Cronenberg Says A Dangerous Method Was Originally Intended For Julia Roberts [The Playlist]

Pols, biz jockey on anti-piracy bill
Supporters and rivals from the major little bit of anti-piracy legislation jockeyed to enhance their positions on Monday, getting a vital critic inside the Senate vowing to filibuster as well as the music business delivering an analysis showing the balance likes bipartisan support every year of gridlock. The legislation in your home as well as the Senate is specific at curbing so-referred to as "rogue" websites overseas that traffic in unlicensed goods, including movies, Tv shows and music. But experts condition the balance is written too broadly, and warn of unintended effects once the government seeks court orders forcing Internet companies to close domain names and search engines like google like google to disable links. Chief among the rivals inside the Senate is Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Or), who put a hold on the total amount right after it passed the Senate Judiciary Committee all in May. On Monday, Wyden came out in the video for your progressive org DemandProgress through which he mentioned he mentioned he planned a filibuster and, incorporated within this type of action, would read within the floor in the Senate what they're known as of people who signed a petition opposing the legislation. "Congress must pay attention to greater than the insurance coverage supporters who written this bill, Congress must pay attention to people as if you who understand the requirement for a free of charge and fair Internet," Wyden mentioned. However in the debate, it Industry Assn. of America released an analysis they mentioned "underscores the first character in the broad, bipartisan support" for your legislation inside the Senate. In the 1,882 bills that have been introduced inside the Senate up to now this session, only 31 other bills enjoy the support of 35 or maybe more cosponsors. ICM IMPLODING! Chris Silbermann & Rob Berg Fight For Control: Rizvi Sits On Sidelines How Extended Will Warring Last?
EXCLUSIVE: On Wednesday of the other day, ICM Leader and heir apparent Chris Silbermann confidedto senior staff he was departing with several key ICM professionals including Ted Chervin and Ron Levy and beginning their very own Hollywood TV agency. Very rapidly the thrill was all over the tenpercentery. Which meant it showed up in the ears in the founding father of non-public equity finance investment firm Rizvi Traverse Management which since 2005 has possessed a substantial stake inside the full-service ICM. On Thursday morning, Suhail Rizvi personally faced Silbermann and asked for once the ICM No. 2 professional was departing or else. Silbermann declined everything, proclaiming he’d never mentioned it, it only agreed to become a rumor, that they was going nowhere — for the moment. However, for many days, my affiliates say Chris Silbermann, the first sort Broder Webb Chervin Silbermann Agency partner, remains noisally and regularly threatening to go away ICM unless of course obviously he'll get what he wants. And what he wants is getting rid of his boss, ICM Chairman and Boss Rob Berg. And Berg, consequently, remains fighting back. Both agency chiefs are actually seeking their unique financing to buy another and dominate the organization minimizing Rizvi’s stake. The infighting has torn apart ICM internally to the level where Silbermann regularly calls secret conferences and pointedly doesn’t invite Berg. While Berg calls secret conferences with Rizvi and pointedly doesn’t invite Silbermann. Sooner or later, Silbermann increased being encircled in the paranoid stress, thinking that his ouster from ICM was imminent and orchestrated by Berg and Rizvi if the wasn’t. Really Berg has attempted frequently to discover a way of themall to hold onto operate together and be an enormous hit to Rizvi to assuage the problem. For Rizvi, I’m told he’s not wanting to consider sides inside the endless quantity of disputes, selecting that both males stay at the organization and dedicated to their business which is constantly enrich Rizvi greater than many think possible.(Don’t forget thatICM’s posting and music touring business comprises a mint, even if both its movie and TV customers are pressurized by formidable rivals.) Therefore the situation remains inside a dead stop, although an exceedinglyuneasy one. I don’t think it’s an exaggeration will be able to condition thatICM is near implosion. Unless of course obviously a truce is showed up at. Sure, there's been on / off ceasefires. The primary problem is always that none stick. I’ve known relevant for this warring for many days(dating back April) but hesitated making it public must be) I wanted the two males works things out, and b) it’s so dangerous with a Hollywood agency — plus an article relating to this even a lot more. Clients especially hate hearing discord within their tenpercenteries. And undoubtedly rival agencies uses what is the news of ICM’s internal strife to poach most likely probably the most lucrative talent. I only released this nowbecause other showbiz media are finally sniffing at at with this story. Therefore I haven't any choice but to use in what I realize. There’s grounds Rob Berg is known as Iceberg: he’s an effective thinker while not a congenial leader. Many find him a discomfort inside the ass, frankly, which explains why he remains so isolated within the agency. Silbermann is his polar opposite, all hot and bothered and selecting the business of his so-referred to as “homeys” made up of the endless entourage of Broder cronies and impressionable youthful agents and club-hopping assistants. While Berg has saved the fighting with Silbermann nowadays (no real surprise he considered a CIA career in the beginning), Silbermannhas rejected to keep their very own frustration and disappointment withBerg to themselves. Rather he’s voiced it — and not along with other ICM senior agents but furthermore at investment banks in addition to barrooms from Beverly Slopes to Telluride to Toronto. “But nobody will need Chris Silbermann seriously. Like when according to him he’s the kind of leader who needs to be controlling a lot of money 500 company. He’s a delusional television agent gone rogue,” an origin near the Berg camping notifies me. Inside the Silbermann camping sources tell me evenmore succinctly: “Fuck Rob Berg. It’s time for him to go to too for Chris to think about over. This should actually be a TV agency because the movie side is losing profits.” While ICM’s movie department has fought freely for some time,ICM’s TV departmentplaced last behind WME, CAA, and UTA inside the levels of major agency packages on new series bought with the broadcast systems for your 2011/2012 season. Strangely enough,Silbermann sooner or later threatened to eliminate ICM’s movie lit department altogether to harm Berg and people Berg allieswhom Silbermann desires to exit. (ICM’s film and TV talent divisions happen to be merged.) Which supports to explain the present steady stream of ICM film lit agents exiting to UTA. Speaking about UTA, there's a concept sooner or later materializing within the Berg camping for ICM to merge with United states . Talent and convey because agency’s managers to avoid the warring with Silbermann. When happened, the concept wound up being to create UTA co-owner Jeremy Zimmer vice-chairman of ICM. But UTA has spoken and spoken with a litany of potential agency suitors and can not got married to anybody for the moment. Meanwhile, I heard that Silbermann am infuriated using this merger suggestion to dilute his energy at ICM he vowed to avoid ever as being a reality. And, to shoreline up what he worried will be a weakening position, Silbermann handled to produce into his camping longtime Berg confidant Ron Levy, ICM’s Chief Business Development Officer & General Counsel. Now somewhat history is required. ICM has received an up minimizing trajectory since it was produced in 1975 when Marvin Josephson’s IFA bought outFreddie Fields’ and David Begelman’s CMA. It’s been a infamously impossible place to handle. Back around Christmas 2005, I used to be expected that Berg preferred to shut a sizable merger to avoid the bleeding at theagency that have hit tough occasions once again. Movie agents and clients were being poached, as well as the TV division wasn't maintaining while using formidable competition. He needed to combine getting a boutique TV or movie agency or both. So, flush along with his month-old $100M Rizvi infusion, Berg was searching carefully at Broder Webb Chervin Silbermann Agency additionally to Endeavor Agency. But, like all things in Hollywood that involves ego and funds, deals like these aren’t made overnight. Theyre complicated since they mix different agency cultures additionally to partners and personnel. The merger with Endeavor never happened. (Ari Emanuel later needed inside the huge William Morris Agency.) ICM’s engulf of Broder needed four intensive several days to acquire done: it absolutely was code-named, it absolutely was stealthy, plus it was clinched at Camping Allen. For 10 years on and off, Berg and Broder had danced that slow minuet that accompany any agency talk of merging. Broder happen to be king in the small tube representation for apparently eons it absolutely was the Tiffany of TV agencies, an authentic cash cow. In 2005, Berg began homing in on Broders Chris Silbermann. They were both Berkeley grads, both British majors, and both active alums. Silbermann was very connected using the school of Letters and Sciences board which Berg had founded and went inside the late eighties. The connections made the sale simpler. It cut through volumes, Berg described in those days. We didnt will need to go through any posturing. The best discussions over operational issues happened between Berg and Silbermann with the Duck Pond through the mid-This summer time Camping Allen investment confab in Sun Valley, Idaho. Host Allen & Co brokered the sale, while CAA leader Richard Lovett and William Morris Boss Jim Wiatt passed the pair’s confabs and wondered what happening… For just about any extended while, Berg and Silbermann couldn’t are actually closer. Each spoke perfectly in the other — and meant it. True, Berg from loyalty to his longtime senior talent agent Erection dysfunction Limato voiced desire to not exit him when Silbermann was adament it must be accomplished to boost ICM’s corporate culture andeffect generational change insidethe agency. But Berg supported Silbermannthrough the ensuing legal unpleasantness with Limato. Silbermann clearly was attempting to flex his new muscle as leader in the combined agency not just inside but furthermore outdoors ICM. Out of the blue gossips began circulation that Berg was retiring when he wasn’t. Could it happen to be Silbermann’s doing? My affiliates date the start of the two males’s friction to when Silbermann preferred the merger to help rebuildICM’s dissolving film business, especially through getting regular reference to its greater profile celebrities and stars and looking to sign more. Berg’s camping states that’s when Silbermann began to consider themselves just like a movie bigwig. And Chris didn’t hold the bonafides for the the means by which Rob does. Meanwhile, Silbermann’s camping states TV is ICM’s financial future and flicks are a glamorous loss leader. But a sizable full-service agency needs both. Berg has always maintained a small profile in Hollywood even though he's the eminence grise of Hollywood agency CEOs. But Silbermann wanted fame which he wanted it quickly. Furthermore for the agency’s in-house publicity, he hired an outdoors flackery which evidently promotesICM but was designated with giving Chris a larger profile.Gossips ramped up that ICM was at war with Rizvi, soSilbermann andBerg mentioned to remain in early predicts restructure the agencys possession to make sure that it may be really a partnership. They mentioned that the thing that was being looked into is ideal for Rizvi to stay in, nevertheless the executive management team would accelerate giving more equity to ICMs agents just like a motivating tool. The suggestion was thatICM could go to the capital areas for just about any buyout transaction incorporated inside a bigger overall restructuring plan.Really, the two fightingICM cake cake toppers have looked for but nonetheless are trying to find financial backers toKO another.Oy vey. Males, can’t you just access it already? And so the war continues unabated. Which I’ll cash more detail later on.

(Who are able to your investment line: “I ate his liver with a few fava beans along with a nice chianti”?) P Laurentiis — that has created the Hannibal Lecter features Hannibal, Red-colored Dragon and Hannibal Rising — and CAA introduced the privileges to GIT, which opened up its doorways at the outset of September. O’Connell introduced in Larger, with whom she'd were built with a lengthy relationship returning towards the time she was at NBC and WME-repped Larger done the network’s drama Heroes. (O’Connell also invest in Larger’s Pushing Daisies, which ultimately visited ABC.)
